About Us

Welcome to the University of Alberta Dance Club. As the largest and oldest dance group on campus, our organization offers an extensive range of classes and activities. Regardless of your dancing ability, there is something in the club for you.

If you're interested in instruction, the club offers classes each week for nine weeks per term, ranging from beginner to advanced (Level I to Silver). Overall, our club teaches the 10 dances found in International Ballroom, including Waltz, Tango, Quickstep, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, Cha Cha, Jive, Rumba, Samba, and Paso Doble. We also teach the Salsa.

Wanting to meet new people? We offer some themed events like the Halloween Dance Party for those who like dressing up in costumes, a Valentine's Dance, and a formal ball in March.

The formal provides the opportunity to "Put on the Ritz" with black tie being the order of the day. It's the club's fanciest event with a three course meal, a massive dance floor, and what dancing at its very best is all about.

We also feature a three day Dance Camp in early January that features some of the best dancers in Canada.

And all this costs little more than a song and dance. As a student group we try to keep costs to a minimum and nowhere in the city will you receive so much for so little.
