Judicial Authority and Elections Administration Board

The Judicial Authority and Elections Administration Board was established in 2001 to create a committee independent of the club Executive to administer elections and interpret the club bylaws. In effect, the board is something of a supreme court charged with ensuring that the rules governing the UADC are adhered to (by both the Executive and general members) and that elections are executed in a fair and impartial manner.

General Council elects three general members to serve on the board at the Annual General Meeting. Of the three members elected to the board, the President will appoint one to serve as Chair. The Chair will be responsible for co-ordinating the activities of the Board and specifically, shall preside at all Board meetings and at all elections held during General Club Meetings. No member of the Executive may serve on the board and the President fills all vacancies through appointment. While the board is free to make its decisions independently of the Executive or General Council, it must follow the process set forth in the UADC Bylaws and Executive Policy by General Council and the Executive respectively. Whenever possible the recommendations of the Board are adopted by the Executive.
